A True Tale of Oppression, Resistance and Love

As war rages in Ukraine and a genocide goes unchecked in Palestine, Adeeb Shaheen offers a unique perspective, and a stark warning: Unless we hold those in power to account, everything and everyone we love is in danger.

Born in Palestine, Adeeb witnessed the Israeli occupation 1967. His life was subject to arbitrary arrest and casual violence. Fleeing his birthplace, Adeeb found himself in eastern Ukraine where he built a new life and a new home - until 2022 when Russian tanks rolled down his street. Once again, he was forced to flee, taking with him his family and what few possessions would fit in the car.

Eventually arriving in Nottingham, UK, Adeeb begins to once again build a new life but he cannot and does not want to escape his past. Soon he is drawn into local campaigns in support of Palestine and Ukraine where he begins to tell his story to individuals, then to casual groups, and then to crowds. Finding a new purpose in warning, educating, and inspiring the next generation, Adeeb begins to write. 

Adeeb's mission is to spread the word about the plight of the Palestinian, Ukrainian and oppressed people everywhere. Funding this project will allow Adeeb to supply free copies of the book to as many schools, libraries and campaign groups as he can.
